Red Woman This image is very captivaiting since the positioning of her hand and arms are very unual making the photo very interesting. As well as this its very graphic, which relates to spesific market. Natural light is entering the picture from the left highlighing her left side and creating a very nice effect. I want to try re-produce some images like Zoetticas because I think some of the lighting techniques and model possitioning could help me develop my project further.
Upclose and Personal I really like this image because its very up close and has no distractions. Its very vivid suggesting a bizare contrast of male and female. The mustache is photoshopped onto the picture so that its symetrical. Zoettica likes producing images that look like they where created in the 50's - 60's which is something I would really like to explore. Im going to take a few of her technques on board such as the un focused black and white she likes to used and the 'old fashioned' props.

Salvadore Dali
Salvadore Dali was a skilled drafts man but mostly known for his bizarre images of his surrealist work. Dali worked with a range of medias such as film, sculpture and photography. He was highly imaginative and enjoyed indulging in the unusual forms and behaviors of socity. His eccentric mannor and his attention grabbing images soon become very popular in the public eye.
Salvador’s painting ‘burning giraffes and telephones’ (on the left) drawn in 1940-1948 has had a rather large impact on fashion in Milan at the Elsa Schiaparelli catwalk in 2009. The oversized eye clearly reflects Dali’s earlier drawing with the green and the blue iris taken for inspiration. Dali loved fashion and was very close to two of the most legendary designers; Paris based Coco Chanel, who was inspired to design flamboyant clothing reflecting some of his work, and the rival Elsa Schiaparelli.
"There is only one difference between a madman and me. The madman thinks he is sane. I know I am mad." - Salvador Dali
"Surrealisum is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision" - Salvador Dali
Bearded man
This picture is very captivating because its in foucs and upclose. I haven't done any image like this in photography which is something I want to focus on. Thoughout his images he has a constant theme of a 'beard' I like how this is consistant and is very distinked. The black and white picture shows his eccentric mannor and showing the audience that he is highly emaginative. Im going to try use my focus on my camera more so that I can achive an image like this. I like how the beard is twisted upwards ristricting the males eye sight. This isnt something that normally happens hence it being surrealisum. Even though his image's a slightly old I want to try reflect this texture in my work.
Irving Penn
Irving pen was an American photographer most known for his fashion photography, portraits and still life’s. His work was included in many famous magazines such as Vogue for independent advertising clients such as Issey Miyake and Clinique. His work has been exhibited internationally and continues to inform the art of photography even after his unfortunate death in 2009. Penn was among the first to shoot subjects against a simple grey or white back drop and uses simplicity more effectively that other photographers.
'I myself have always stood in the awe of the camera. I recognize it for the instrument it is, part Stradivarius, part scalpel'. - Irving Penn - September/October 2001
'A good photographer is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it - Irving penn is just that' - Vogue Magazine
Gray Hair Portrait
This image is very striking and is the image why I chose to do a photographer study on Irving Penn. His work is very individual, like wise in this image he has used the lighting of the studio to enhance the models bone structure as well as highlight the contast between black/beige. Its a very powerful image even though it only uses a small spectrum of colour. The depth of feild is in the forground making it the main focus of the image. The molded wire around her facial features making them stand out and become the main artical of the peice.
Mini-mouse Portrait
Incomparrison to the previous work I have looked at from Penn this stands out. Instead of him following his normal 'monocrome' backdrops he has used a much lighter tone. This beige background makes the picture look old suggesting it was done in the last 20years. The way the light makes the image dull and smooth almost makes it look like an oil painting. However the deep contast between the black mask and the pale model suggests that he is trying to portay another meaning, for example her hair has been made to look like devil horns and her eyes portray sadness suggesting a darker emotion. This is something I want to try and put across in some of my own images.
Diego Diaz Marin
Diego Diaz Marin is a Spanish fashion photographer. He was born in 1987 in a town called Torre del Mar in Malaga. Diego (8years) began to take pictures of his sister, his cousin sand friends so that he can play with Photoshop. Now Diego is based in Italy working in a high fashion world as a fashion photographer, but in his pictures he always presents the light and lifestyle of his hometown for him essence at Torre Del Mar is a constant inspiration. Between the last works of Diego are, the underwater catalogue for Just Cavalla, fashion shootings for magazines like C-heads or Faint Mag and catalogues and campaigns for Shields Collection. His work has been featured in many Medias like VOUGE Portugal, ELLE Portugal, EL MUNDO (Spanish newspaper) VOUGE and style.com.

Reflective Girl This is one of my favourate images I have come across because I love the way this girl is reflected and symetrical because even though all the images are the same, it gives the image more depth and personality. The natural light source rushing in from the middle (right) is something I think could be done with some of the ideas I would like to shoot. As well as this having the contrast between the white/cream walls and the wooden cross and furnature gives the picture a deeper meaning suggesting a 'devilish' like behavior considering her posture.
Lobster Blue Deigos work strongly reflects his back ground since nearly all of his images enhance the spanish feel. I really love this iamge becuase of the colours blue and oranges really standing out. Deigo must have used an additonal light source as well as the sunset to get this beautiful orange reflection on her face as well as the still light blue sky behind her. I want to find a place that could possibly mimick his work and create something that portrays the same charicteristics.
